I was saying back in 2022 or 2023 that we are not allies with Russia on the issue of Ukraine. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a press briefing Thursday.

According to him, the Alma-Ata Declaration is of fundamental importance for Armenia, and Yerevan takes this declaration as a basis when building relations with Azerbaijan.

He recalled that Armenia has sent humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Speaking about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s congratulations to Azerbaijan after the 2020 war, Pashinyan recalled that CSTO members, for example, Belarus, had also congratulated Azerbaijan.

“Russian top officials also expressed themselves in a similar way,” Pashinyan added.

He stated that before the Prague statement of October 6, 2022, the Russian President Vladimir Putin had twice stated that Nagorno-Karabakh was part of Azerbaijan. (...). The president of Belarus [Alexander Lukashenko], during his visit to Azerbaijan, directly stated that he participated in the preparation for the 44-day war [in 2020]. (...). The president of Belarus said that no one needs Armenia anymore, except for the [other] EAEU countries,” Nikol Pashinyan added, in part.
