The leader of the Strong Armenia party, businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan, stated this at a press conference Thursday, responding to a request to assess the recent visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Yerevan within the framework of the European Political Community summit in the Armenian capital.
"To be honest? I think it was stupidity towards our ally [i.e. Russia] and even callousness towards the people by our authorities. Since the Europeans organized it, they had brought Zelenskyy so that [Armenian PM Nikol] Pashinyan could give a master class on how to boldly surrender their own territories. I am concerned that our people will not benefit from all this. Surrendering everything... he [i.e. Pashinyan] has only one thing left to ‘sell’ to the Europeans: anti-Russian policy, which the Europeans will gladly ‘buy’ from him," Karapetyan said.
Asked whether he was ready to give a political assessment of Pashinyan's tenure, Karapetyan noted that he does this every day, showing the people all the failures of the "small group."
"We have done [it], we are doing [it], and we will continue to do [it]," he added.
