Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that recent U.S. violations of the ceasefire and provocative actions in the Persian Gulf have deepened suspicions about Washington's motives and the seriousness of its diplomatic efforts. Araghchi made the remarks during a phone call with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on Friday, during which both sides discussed key regional developments, Tasnim reports.

During the phone conversation, the Iranian foreign minister briefed Fidan on the latest developments regarding Iran's diplomatic efforts and initiatives aimed at bringing about a final end to the aggressive war imposed by the U.S. and Israel.

“Referring to recent provocative U.S. actions in the Persian Gulf and the offensive rhetoric of senior American officials, Araghchi said that the recent actions of U.S. armed forces in the Persian Gulf, which are creating tension, and repeated violations of the ceasefire have intensified doubts about the American side’s intentions and commitment to diplomacy,” the agency wrote.

He described the U.S. approach as destructive and said it undermines the diplomatic process while also deepening the Iranian people’s distrust of Washington’s intentions.

Araghchi also said that stopping illegal acts of aggression and abandoning the excessive and unreasonable approaches of the other side are necessary to advance the ongoing diplomatic process.

For his part, Fidan emphasized the need to continue diplomatic efforts to end the war and reaffirmed Turkey’s support for the ongoing diplomatic process in this regard.
