Armenia and Azerbaijan have reached an agreement to continue the border delimitation process from north to south. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, who is currently on vacation and heads the ruling Civil Contract party’s proportional representation list for the parliamentary election on June 7, told this to reporters Monday during the election campaign.

“We admit that we have an issue of occupied territories, and de jure this issue has been resolved,” Pashinyan added.

He made a reference to the fact that in 2024, Armenia and Azerbaijan had signed and ratified the regulations on the activities of the border delimitation commissions of the two countries—and where the Alma-Ata Declaration was adopted as the fundamental principle of this border delimitation.

“This means that the borders of [former] Soviet Armenia and [former] Soviet Azerbaijan should become state borders between the two countries. The solution will be exactly that," the Armenian PM added.
