In recent times, steps have been taken to normalize relations and build mutual trust between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Azerbaijani MP Fariz Ismailzade said, answering reporters' questions.
"Contacts are being held at various levels. Opportunities for dialogue are opening up in the political, interparliamentary and expert spheres, as well as at the level of civil society institutions. This indicates the presence of political will and practical steps to implement the peace agenda.
As for election monitoring mechanisms, there are various formats in international practice. This can be implemented within the framework of international organizations, on the basis of bilateral agreements, through parliamentary delegations, electoral experts, or civil society institutions. At this phase, it is difficult to make a definite prediction as to which specific format will be used," the Azerbaijani MP added.
