A 5.0 magnitude earthquake occurred in Izmir, Turkey, on Tuesday.
The tremor was registered at 6.45 p.m. Yerevan time, RIA Novosti reports. The epicenter was in Izmir, the hypocenter was 12.2 km deep.
The earthquake caused panic among the residents. The shocks were felt even in Istanbul.
There is no information on deaths and destruction.
