The Zhoghovurd daily of Armenia writes as follows: There are only 9 days left until the June 7, 2026 National Assembly elections in Armenia, but one of the main trends being recorded in the pre-election field, according to sociological studies being publicized, continues to be a significant decrease in electoral activeness.
The overall picture of the surveys being presented and made public by various political forces, regardless of differences in methodology, clients and geopolitical centers, mainly records that a significant part of the voters [in Armenia] still does not want to participate in the elections.
At the same time, according to the results of surveys from various centers, no individual political force can form a stable parliamentary majority by itself at this phase.
After June 7, the formation of the government may depend on several possible scenarios:
• formation of blocs and post-election political unions,
• redistribution—through the mechanisms of the bonus system—of votes of forces that did not overcome the electoral threshold,
• or a second round of elections.
That is, the results of the elections depend more on post-election developments: who will form a bloc with whom, how much the vote of a force will increase on the account of the bonuses of those who did not pass [the electoral threshold].
Against this background, the issue of political stability after the results of the elections continues to remain open and sensitive, one of the key topics on the agenda. What to expect in post-election Armenia?
