The resumption of a full-scale war with the US is unlikely, the command of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has said, reports Tasnim News Agency.

But at the same time, the IRGC warned that the Islamic Republic is fully prepared to give a tough response to any attack.

Although the probability of resuming hostilities is not high due to the “enemy’s weakness,” the Iranian troops are on maximum combat readiness, said Mohammad Akbarzadeh, deputy political chief of the IRGC Navy,.

“The possibility of war is low because of the enemy’s weakness, the armed forces are lying in wait with full magazines,” Akbarzadeh said.

"Do not doubt that we will turn the area from Chabahar to Mahshahr into a graveyard for aggressors," he concluded, referring to the port cities at opposite ends of Iran's vast southern coast.
