Russia sees that Armenia is turning a blind eye to the West’s open campaign to incite anti-Russian sentiment, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at Thursday’s press briefing.

“We see how the team of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan openly allows the West to incite targeted anti-Russian actions. Literally every day there are allegations and fake news that Moscow is allegedly interfering in the country’s [i.e. Armenia’s] internal affairs or carrying out hybrid attacks against Armenia. Naturally, the search for spies is also added to all this,” the Russian MFA spokesperson noted.

In this context, she added that Armenia's calming statements about relations with Russia completely contradict everything that is being said and done these days within the framework of the heated parliamentary election campaign underway in Armenia.
