The signing of a strategic partnership agreement between Armenia and the US is more like a support for the election campaign. Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergey Shoigu, stated this during the press conference held within the framework of the inaugural International Security Forum, TASS reports.

“As for the strategic partnership agreement [between Armenia and the US], let’s imagine that a person [i.e. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio] arrives [in Armenia] for just an hour, and during that hour he manages to sign a strategic partnership agreement [with Armenia]. This is more like an election campaign or an attempt to support the election campaign. It is difficult to delve into more serious details, because, firstly, there are no such details, and secondly, the strategic partnership agreement itself must provide for separate directions, and each of them must be developed quite deeply. We have not seen this yet,” said the Russian Security Council chief.
