Strong Armenia bloc prime ministerial candidate—businessman, and philanthropist—Samvel Karapetyan has filed a lawsuit against the ruling Civil Contract party and the state-funded Public TV Company of Armenia for defamation.

The reason for the lawsuit is defamatory information about Karapetyan in the ruling party’s parliamentary election campaign video, reports Pastinfo.

In addition to the refutation, Karapetyan is demanding from the court to obligate the ruling party and the Public TV to publicly apologize to him for tarnishing, with offensive expressions, his dignity and good reputation.

The lawsuit has been filed with the Yerevan Civil Court of General Jurisdiction. There is no information yet on whether the lawsuit will be accepted for proceedings.
