Four US servicemembers and three civilians were slightly injured in an Iranian missile strike on a Kuwaiti air base last week, a source familiar with the matter said, CBS News reports.

They have since returned to duty after receiving medical treatment, the source said.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) had said that Iran on Thursday had fired a ballistic missile towards the Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, which is used by the Pentagon. The missile was intercepted by Kuwait's missile defenses.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran said it had struck the US air base in retaliation for US operations in the Bandar Abbas region of Iran.
