French President Nicolas Sarkozy once again mentioned about the Armenian Genocide during campaign meeting in Toulon on Thursday.

Sarkozy said the Republic should not forget about the past sufferings, French 20minutes website writes.

“France has its principles. We are on the side of victims, not executors. I want to honor all those who have chosen France, who work much to bring up their children. The Republic promised them equality and should keep the promise,” he said.

Nicolas Sarkozy was also a guest of a program on RTL radio station on Thursday. He said his favorite song is Charles Aznavour’s  “Ils Sont Tombés” (They Fell) dedicated to the Armenian Genocide victims.
