The leadership of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) continues to consider Armenia a full member of the organization, despite the statements of some politicians in the country, CSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov announced after the Moscow meeting of the Council of Ministers of Defense of the CSTO member states.
“This issue was not discussed during the meeting. I think this is a political issue, and to this day the Collective Security Treaty Organization considers Armenia a full member of the CSTO. No other decision or official statement has been received from the Republic of Armenia. And the rhetoric being used by politicians of Armenia or other states in the pre-election or post-election period [of Armenia’s parliamentary elections to be held on Sunday] may be different,” the CSTO Secretary General said.
