The leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member countries will be presented with a report by December on possible options for action on Armenia’s membership in the union. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk stated this in an interview with TASS on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Speaking about whether some formats for freezing Armenia’s membership in the EAEU will already be discussed by December, Overchuk noted that “it is about considering options for action and presenting them to the leaders of the [EAEU] member states by December.”

“Probably, as always happens in such cases, a task force will be created, which will include the relevant interested member states. The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council members, who are the heads of governments of our countries, have been instructed to discuss these issues. They will assess the situation and make recommendations to the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council [meeting], which will be held here in St. Petersburg in December 2026," the Russian deputy premier added.
