Armenia must find an additional $1 billion for natural gas, deputy secretary of the Russian Security Council, Aleksey Shevtsov, told Vesti newscast.

According to him, Armenia currently buys Russian natural gas for $177.5 per 1,000 cubic meters.

“The [Russian natural gas] price on the stock exchanges, as we already had discussed during the first survey, is around $600, it can reach $800. And taking into account that the volume [of natural gas] that Armenia receives from Russia is 2.3 billion cubic meters, by simple multiplication we can figure out that Armenia must find an additional $1 billion, maybe more,” added the deputy secretary of the Russian Security Council.
