The Republic Party will petition to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia with a request to invalidate the registration of the Strong Armenia bloc’s electoral list. Anahit Adamyan, a member of the Republic Party, stated this in an interview with Armenian News-NEWS.am.
In turn, party leader Aram Sargsyan noted that they will petition to the CEC in this regard, but they do not expect the issue to be resolved within these two days before Sunday’s parliamentary election.
During Thursday’s debate between leading figures live on Public Television, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had called on opposition leaders to petition to the CEC on this matter.
Prior to that, Aram Sargsyan had noted that he had verbally petitioned in this regard to the CEC, from where he was told that it was pointless to petition, the CEC does not have such authority, to which Pashinyan had urged to petition in writing, observing legal procedures. And Aram Sargsyan had promised to petition in writing to the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia Friday.
