From 2014 to 2021, the average annual number of applications submitted for obtaining Armenian citizenship amounted to about 10 thousand. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Armen Ghazaryan on Tuesday announced this during the discussion of the annual report on the implementation of the 2025 state budget of Armenia at a joint meeting of the country’s parliamentary standing committees, as he presented the growth rates of this indicator and the general growth of interest in Armenian citizenship in the following years.

According to Ghazaryan, in 2022, a total of 25,515 people applied for Armenian citizenship, in 2023 - 19,185, and in 2024 - 21,437.

“A historical record was recorded in 2025: we received 32,891 applications for obtaining [Armenian] citizenship. By presidential decree, 25,670 people have been granted [Armenian] citizenship," the deputy minister of internal affairs noted.
