After the recount of votes that were cast in polling station 27/7 in Sunday’s National Assembly (parliament) elections, it was confirmed that the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) had received 77 more votes, while the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia had recorded only one more vote on its website, RFE/RL reports.

And as a result of the recount of votes in polling station 27/26, PAP received 19 more votes, whereas the CEC had publicized only three more votes on the website.

The PAP will gain 92 more votes in these two polling stations alone.

The chairperson of the precinct election commission claimed that there was no intention, but simply that "when inputting the numbers, the first line of the website jumped, and everyone's numbers deviated by one box."

The PAP on Monday raised concerns about the election irregularities, when the CEC failed to count 120 votes in just four polling stations, according to the opposition party.

Whether the PAP will pass the 4 percent threshold to enter the new parliament, according to the CEC, will become clear this coming Sunday, when the final results will be announced. According to preliminary results, the PAP, led by businessman Gagik Tsarukyan, received 3.996 percent of the vote.
