US President Donald Trump’s administration of plans to significantly expand the exchange of operational intelligence with Israel, reports The Independent.

“The US is driving ahead with legislation that massively expands defence and intelligence sharing with Israel and eclipses the English-speaking Five Eyes espionage alliance,” the newspaper states.

One of the provisions of this law is intended to further deepen the close ties between the special services of the two countries. This will enable Israel to gain access to the most secret data stored in the US intelligence community.

Given that the US is a member of the Five Eyes intelligence alliance—which also includes Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK, Israel will also have the opportunity to receive information from the special services of these countries.

Thus, the most important intelligence data being received from the US and its allies will become accessible also to Israeli special services for use for their own purposes, The Independent notes.
