Against the backdrop of reports regarding US strikes, Iran's air defense system has been activated. According to the Mehr news agency, the air defense is operating in Fars province, as well as in areas west of Tehran.

The agency also reports explosions in the vicinity of the Sirik and Minab districts in the south of the country. Details of the incident and potential consequences have not yet been specified.

Official Iranian authorities have not commented on the nature of the targets or the extent of the damage.
