After the [June 7 parliamentary] elections, our main task is to continue our mission of creating a new quality state and the rise of the state, based on the logic that the state is a means of ensuring the security, well-being, and freedom of a person, citizen. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this at the beginning of the Cabinet session of the Armenian government.

“We will already begin the development of the [new] government program, which should be approved in the NA [i.e. the National Assembly, the parliament] after the formation of the new government. During this time, we will try to have informal discussions with the government and the future government or a wider circle in order to implement our tasks, strategies, and analyses of the work of the previous period. The good news is that in the previous two cases, we did not have so much time to think about the composition of the government, the program, and other documents, because the previous two [parliamentary] elections [in Armenia] were snap, we worked in a rush mode.

At this phase, it is important to fully analyze the previous period, to understand what we need to intensify more, what we need to abandon, and where our work does not seem sufficient to us, and we need to make more efforts,” Pashinyan said.

The premier announced that he had proposed a new idea that, unlike previous programs, the upcoming program should have a clear list of priorities.

“First of all, there has not been and will not be such a program that is implemented 100 percent; this is inherently impossible, because circumstances change, priorities change. But it is important that we have priorities and priorities of priorities. For example, in the previous program, the priority of priorities was the peace agenda [with Azerbaijan], and we [i.e. Armenia] remained super-focused on it and recorded a result,” Pashinyan said.
