YEREVAN. – The opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (ANC) leader and Armenia’s First President, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, visited the ANC Central Headquarters.  

As ANC Spokesperson Arman Musinyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am, even though they have recorded numerous violations during the ongoing National Assembly elections, there still is a peaceful and determined climate at the Headquarters.

“The entire spectrum of election fraud is being used. There was violence against out proxies. Election bribe is across-the-board. There were intimidations, specifically in [capital Yerevan’s] Kanaker-Zeytun community. The public transport [system] is paralyzed. There is an abnormally high voter turnout at a precinct. The old inks are still used,” Musinyan stated.           

And with respect to Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s mood, Arman Musinyan said it is normal so far and that he is at the ANC Central Headquarters.

“He is familiarizing with the situation and following the course of the elections,” Musinyan noted, and added that Ter-Petrosyan could hold a press conference during the day. 

To note, the joint parliamentary election public oversight headquarters informed that the latter’s staff will meet with Levon Ter-Petrosyan at 4:30pm.

Armenian National Congress (ANC) is an opposition bloc founded in 2008 after presidential elections. During the August 1, 2008, rally in Yerevan the first President of Armenia and ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan announced formation of the bloc. ANC comprises 18 parties and political forces.

ANC proportional list includes 119 names. It has also nominated MP candidates with the majority election system.
