YEREVAN. - The OSCE PA Observation Mission will prepare a report on the parliamentary elections in Armenia in 4-6 weeks. As the head of the delegation Francois Xavier de Donnea told reporters, the delegation will prepare a preliminary report on the elections on Monday. The final report will be ready during 4-6 weeks.

“Each one of our observers is allowed to visit 12-13, maximum 15 electoral districts, where he can stay no longer than 30 minutes. However our delegation is rather large for providing representatives throughout the Republic,” Francois Xavier de Donnea said.

To note, the observation missions of European structures consist of 350 members from 42 countries, including 41 long-term OSCE / ODIHR observers and 200 short-term observers at the request of the latter, 60 from OSCE PA and 25 from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, as well as 10 delegates from the European Parliament.

Eight political parties and one block have presented their nominations – Republican Party of Armenian, Prosperous Armenia Party, Orinats Yerkir, opposition Armenian National Congress, opposition Heritage Party, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, the Communist Party of Armenia, Democratic Party of Armenia and United Armenians Party.

For entering the National Assembly, parties must poll over 5% of votes, while blocks - over 7%.

The election campaign will be held till May 5 - the day prior to elections when campaigning is banned. The parliamentary elections will be held from 8 am to 8 pm on May 6, 2012.
