European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos will visit Armenia on July 5. Kos wrote about this on X, informing about her meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.

“Russia continues to intensify pressure on Armenia, trying to influence the country away from the democratic choice made by its people in the last elections.

I met Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan ahead of tomorrow’s Foreign Affairs Council, where we will discuss with Member [c]ontinue supporting Armenia, showing our solidarity.

We will provide financial assistance and help make it easier for Armenia to trade with its neighbours and with Europe.

I will travel to Yerevan on 5 July to take forward concrete steps,” Kos wrote.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan is participating in the discussion in the format of a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council of foreign ministers of the European Union (EU) member states, in Luxembourg. Mirzoyan is attending the discussion at the invitation of Kaja Kallas, European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

Russia had banned or imposed restrictions on the import of Armenian-made goods ahead of the June 7 parliamentary elections in Armenia. These bans and restrictions have not been lifted to this day.
