YEREVAN. – Armenia’s President, leader of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Serzh Sargsyan follows the summing up of the election results from the party office. Sargsyan has recently arrived at headquarter, spokesperson for the RPA Edward Sharmazanov told Armenian News-NEWS.am. He has discussed the process of the past elections, claiming the importance that they were fair, free and transparent.

Eight political parties and one bloc participated in the parliament elections in Armenia: Republican Party of Armenian, Prosperous Armenia Party, Orinats Yerkir, Armenian National Congress, Heritage Party, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, the Communist Party of Armenia, Democratic Party of Armenia and United Armenians Party. For entering a 131-seat National Assembly (Parliament), parties must poll over 5% of votes, while blocs - over 7%.
