Armenia de facto does not participate in the work of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the latter’s secretary general, Taalatbek Masadykov, stated.

“Armenia has not paid its [CSTO] membership fees for the third year. De facto it has practically no participation, de jure it is a full member of the CSTO. But the decision, of course, is up to the Armenian people and the leadership of Armenia,” Masadykov noted in response to a relevant question from TASS.

He added that the CSTO member states are discussing the matter of depriving Armenia of its voting rights due to its status and non-payment of membership fees.

“Yes, this issue is being discussed. Most recently, a session of the Council of Foreign Ministers was held in Kazan, where the ministers discussed this issue in detail,” the CSTO Secretary General said.
