Hraparak daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in particular: We learned from our authorities’ sources that [PM] Nikol Pashinyan, through his Western sponsors, is trying to convince [Azerbaijani president Ilham] Aliyev to abandon the demand to change the RA Constitution, promising Aliyev in return to take other steps equivalent to it, let's say to uproot the idea of revanche from the country.

Pashinyan, deprived of the constitutional majority after the June 7 [parliamentary] elections, is trying to convince that achieving a constitutional referendum through an alternative route will not be an easy process.

For example, he may try to impose long-term detentions, say, against the heroes of the Artsakh [i.e. Nagorno-Karabakh] wars, figures who turned the Artsakh issue into political capital.

And it is assumed that the persecution of [ex-President] Robert Kocharyan, other Artsakh people, and heroes should also be viewed in that context.

So far, the negotiations have recorded no final results, but there is information that this was discussed also during [Azerbaijani presidential aide Hikmet] Hajiyev's [recent] visit [to Armenia].
