YEREVAN. – The Central Electoral Commission of Armenia has counted the ballots cast in 1,900 of the total 1,982 constituencies in Sunday’s National Assembly elections.

As a result, the country’s former ruling coalition partners—the Republican Party of Armenia, Prosperous Armenia Party, and Orinats Yerkir Party—jointly received close to eighty percent of the proportional election votes. 

The current numbers are as follows: 

Republican Party of Armenia – 44.08% (631,036 votes)

Prosperous Armenia Party – 30.30% (433,803 votes)

Armenian National Congress – 7.07% (101,238 votes)

Heritage Party – 5.75% (82,376 votes)

ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party – 5.69% (81,414 votes)

Orinats Yerkir Party – 5.48% (78,428 votes)

Communist Party of Armenia – 1.06% (15,203 votes)

Democratic Party of Armenia – 0.37% (5,256 votes)

United Armenians Party – 0.21% (2,943 votes).

Eight political parties and one bloc participated in the parliament elections in Armenia: Republican Party of Armenian, Prosperous Armenia Party, Orinats Yerkir, Armenian National Congress, Heritage Party, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, the Communist Party of Armenia, Democratic Party of Armenia and United Armenians Party. For entering the 131-seat National Assembly (Parliament), the parties must poll over 5% of votes, while blocs - over 7%.
