The passenger plane en route from Gyumri, Armenia to Moscow, Russia has landed at the Makhachkala city airport of Russia, Armenian News-NEWS.am was told by the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia.
The committee added that the plane landed in Makhachkala due to technical reasons. After they are resolved, the plane will continue its flight to Moscow.
It was earlier reported that a passenger plane flying from Gyumri to Moscow on Monday was diverted to Makhachkala after issuing emergency alert, as per the Flightradar service data and the Makhachkala airport’s online flight information
The Boeing plane had departed from Gyumri at 12:24 Armenia time. But less than an hour after takeoff, over the territory of Russia’s Republic of Dagestan, the crew issued a “general emergency” alert, after which the plane began to descended to an altitude of about 3,000 meters. Later it became known that the plane was redirected to the Makhachkala airport.
