A regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on the Issues of Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing (Whereabouts Unknown) Persons of Armenia was held Monday, the National Security Service (NSS) reports.
In his opening remarks, the chairman of the commission, NSS director Andranik Simonyan, presented the main tasks recorded during the previous meeting and the progress of the implementation of the instructions implemented to resolve them.
Reference was made to the legal regulations of the law on persons missing in the conditions and circumstances created as a result of military operations, which had entered into force on May 1, emphasizing their importance from the perspective of the systematic regulation of issues of missing persons, as well as organizational measures aimed at the implementation of this law.
During the meeting, reference was made also to the coordination of work between various state agencies and interested organizations.
As a result of the discussions, respective recommendations were given, and the main directions for organizing future work were defined.
