YEREVAN. – François-Xavier de Donnea, who led the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s (PA) observation mission which monitored Armenia’s parliamentary elections on Sunday, held a press conference on Monday.

He noted that several violations were recorded during the elections, but they would hardly affect the results. As per de Donnea, such violations must be corrected, but they do not substantially impact the outcome.

At the same time the European observer noted that they discovered cases of intimidating and bribing of voters.

Also, the OSCE PA election observation mission chief informed that he was outraged at the fact that an organization close to a political force was giving out numerous tractors to the villagers, and that teachers and schools were used during the election campaign season.

According to François-Xavier de Donnea, these elections were better than the previous one to some extent, but they were somewhat on the same level, too.

“We just want to draw the authorities’ attention to what should be changed,” de Donnea stated.
