US President Donald Trump's remarks about Iran have seriously jeopardized the Burgenstock talks, but Tehran is ready to continue the dialogue if Washington shows an interest in a diplomatic settlement, said Ambassador Ali Bahreini, Permanent Representative of Iran to the United Nations Office at Geneva.

The US president's statements have created certain problems during the talks in Burgenstock, Switzerland; they have put the talks under serious risk, Bahreini said at a press briefing in Geneva, commenting on the progress of these talks.

At the same time, he stressed that as long as the US expresses its willingness to negotiate with Iran and resolve the issues that have arisen, Iran will continue the talks and participate in the dialogue.

But it should now be clear to everyone that military means will not bring any results in the case of Iran. Military action must be permanently excluded from the options of possible actions, added Iran’s permanent representative to the UN Office at Geneva.
