According to a report received from the Compulsory Enforcement Service of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, the Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia issued an enforcement order on January 5 prohibiting opposition MP Ishkhan Saghatelyan and his wife from taking any action related to the management of their property, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Investigative Committee.

In addition, by the court's decision, a seizure of 258,146,843 drams shall be placed on the properties owned by Saghatelyan and his wife.

During the initiated enforcement proceedings, on February 2, Ishkhan Saghatelyan refused to submit a declaration on the composition, quantity, and location of property, income, and property rights, including claim rights.

On April 28, Ishkhan Saghatelyan submitted a declaration, in which, among other things, he indicated property that was subject to compulsory seizure. A seizure was placed on this property.

Based on the received report, criminal proceedings were initiated under Section 1, Paragraph 2—i.e. illegal act against property under seizure—of Article 509 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.

In addition, based on the report submitted by the investigator during the investigation of the criminal proceedings, another criminal proceeding was initiated under Section 1, Article 510 —i.e. evasion by the debtor from submitting a declaration on the composition, quantity, and location of property and property rights owned by him by right of ownership—of the Criminal Code.

The aforementioned criminal proceedings have been merged.

On Tuesday, a search was conducted at the residence of Ishkhan Saghatelyan and two vehicles owned by his wife by right of ownership, during which foreign currency and gold jewelry were found.

The investigation is ongoing.
