Iran is ready to sign security agreements with other Persian Gulf states. Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf announced this at the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (PUIC) Member States, in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku.

 “Iran, having a special interest in Muslim countries, especially the [Middle East] region and, in particular, the Persian Gulf states, declares its readiness to sign security agreements [with these countries], which will be strengthened by stable economic cooperation. This will enable protecting them from shared enemies and making their territories safe for all investors,” Ghalibaf said, Tasnim News Agency reports.

He added that the future of the Muslim world should be built “not on destructive competition, but on cooperation and economic integration,” as well as “continuous political dialogue.”

Also, the Iranian parliament speaker recalled that the Islamic Republic, as before, insists on the need to withdraw all foreign forces from the countries of the Middle East.
