The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia (RA) has provided a clarification on the press information that Minister Gevorg Papoyan had written a letter to the Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, Anton Alikhanov, asking to give him the opportunity to participate in the trade and economic forum to be held in Yekaterinburg, Russia on July 6-7.
Lilit Shaboyan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Economy of Armenia, on Thursday noted as follows: “Today, untrue information was disseminated in the [Armenian] press regarding RA Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan. In particular, regarding his upcoming business trip.
Recently, Minister Gevorg Papoyan received an invitation from his Russian colleague to participate in the trade and economic forum to be held in Yekaterinburg in July.
This is the only fact.
Relations between Armenia and Russia continue to be built on the principles of mutual respect and constructive dialogue. Within the framework of these relations, contacts and meetings at various levels have been and continue to be part of the working process."
