The government of Armenia will take out a loan of 80 million euros from the OPEC Fund for International Development to cover the country’s state budget deficit. The respective decision was made at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the government.
The agreement to that effect between the Armenian government and the OPEC Fund was reached on April 29.
The Armenian government, in particular, has drawn up a plan to increase the efficiency of public administration in order to increase tax revenue collection indicators and achieve financial stability in Armenia.
The loan from the OPEC Fund will be provided at a 6-month floating rate of Euribor—the European interbank lending rate, which is currently 2.606%—plus a fixed rate of 1.56%—in total, currently 4.166% per annum.
The loan term is 18 years, with a 5-year grace period on the principal amount.
