The Russian government has temporarily suspended traffic at railway crossings on the borders with Finland, Estonia, and Latvia, starting from Wednesday.

The respective order was posted on the portal of legal acts of Russia.

The reasons for this decision are not reported, and the terms of these restrictions are also not specified.

“From July 1, 2026, the movement of persons, vehicles, goods, and cargo at railway crossings on the state border of the Russian Federation located in separate sections of the state border of the Russian Federation, in accordance with the list specified in the appendix, is temporarily suspended,” the document says.

Also, the Russian foreign ministry has been instructed to send notifications about this decision to the authorities of Finland, Estonia, and Latvia.
