During the last ten years, the number of the mentally disordered people started to grow throughout the world.

According to the publication of Armenia’s National Statistical Service, the number of the mentally disordered people continues to grow rapidly. In 2007, 6.9 people out of 1,000 were mentally disordered, in 2009, the number was 7.9 out of 1000.

To note, during the last ten years the number of the mentally disordered started to grow throughout the world.

Even though, according to official facts, the number of mentally disordered people is not big in Armenia, there are no serious researches in that area. The given number is stated based on researches conducted in two Mental Hospitals and in orphanages which have mentally disordered children. Many people suffering from mental diseases do not go to doctors.
