YEREVAN. – May 8 is the day of Shushi liberation, and I congratulate the Yerkrapah Volunteers Union and its unchallenged leader, my brother Vazgen Sargsyan, opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) member Aram Sargsyan said during the Tuesday rally.

As for the fact that bribe had a decisive role in the May 6 parliamentary elections, Sargsyan said that a huge part of society trusted money more than human.

“Authorities may not think, it is within their interests, however, we have little time. We are facing presidential elections in seven months and we should ponder on what to offer people. I believe we will take right steps,” he said.

Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission has issued the preliminary results of parliamentary elections. Five parties and one political bloc will be represented in the 131-seat National Assembly (Parliament) of Armenia: Republican Party of Armenia – 44.05% (663,066 votes), Prosperous Armenia Party – 30.20% (454,684 votes), Armenian National Congress – 7.10% (106,910 votes), Heritage Party – 5.79% (87,095 votes), ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party – 5.73% (86, 296 votes), Orinats Yerkir Party – 5.49% (82,690 votes).
