Hraparak daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: In a few days, the CC [i.e. the Constitutional Court of Armenia] will publicize the decision on the [June 7 parliament] elections, and the opposition will announce the taking of [parliamentary] mandates.

The ruling team has high hopes that as a result of kidnapping from the ranks of the opposition, they will have additional MPs and will seize a constitutional majority in the parliament.

However, our sources say that [opposition Strong Armenia bloc leader] Samvel Karapetyan has done serious work in this direction, minimizing the risks, and those MP candidates who are vulnerable and will not withstand the pressure of the authorities will voluntarily leave the [electoral] list.

Yesterday, we asked Mamikon Aslanyan, number 7 on the [electoral] list of the “strong”: “Aren’t you worried that the CC [i.e. the ruling Civil Contract party] will pull your MPs to its side?” He said: "Any struggle is fraught with unpredictable consequences, therefore, to prejudge that something bad may or may not happen is not very right.

Courage and responsibility need to be manifested and to move forward with clear steps, not looking at what the authorities can do, but clearly outlining what we need to do."
