During the next court hearing into the Ergenekon case, defendant Garip Irfan Torun claimed to having bought his weapon from Ibrahim Sahin, who is another defendant, Cihan News Agency informs.
“The Kurdish terrorists often cut roads at where I live. I was going to kill them with this weapon,” Torun said, and denied that he was going to kill Minas Durmazguler, head of the Armenian community in Sivas Province, with that weapon.
To note, by way of Ersin Gonenci, who is another Ergenekon case defendant, Ibrahim Sahin had instructed Emrah Gonenci to find Durmazguler’s address in order to have him killed.
Organizing the assassinations of the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople and the head of the Sivas Armenians was among the plans of Ergenekon, which is an alleged clandestine terrorist organization in Turkey.
