Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Friday met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, the PM’s office informs.

First, the premier once again extended his condolences on the passing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, emphasizing that Armenia shares the grief of the Iranian people.

In turn, President Pezeshkian thanked Prime Minister Pashinyan for arriving in Tehran to participate in the official farewell ceremony for Ali Khamenei. He noted that Iran highly appreciates the position adopted by the Armenian government towards the Iran in a difficult situation and the humanitarian support provided.

Also, Masoud Pezeshkian congratulated Nikol Pashinyan on his ruling party’s win in the parliamentary elections in Armenia on June 7 and expressed a conviction that Armenia-Iran relations will continue to consistently develop and strengthen.

The parties exchanged views also on matters of regional importance, and stressed the importance of implementing consistent actions aimed at strengthening peace, stability, and regional cooperation.
