U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called on Latin American states not to promote ties with Iran. According to BBC, Secretary of State considers that such countries as Venezuela and Bolivia should “think twice” about the consequences of ties with Iran.

BBC quotes Clinton as saying, “I think if people want to flirt with Iran, they should take a look at what the consequences might well be for them. And we hope that they will think twice and we will support them if they do.”

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad visited Venezuela, Bolivia and Brazil in November and these countries openly supported Iran’s right to nuke program.
