YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission (CEC) received demands on re-counting votes only on 17 precincts on proportional system and 33 out of 1982 on majoritarian, CEC head Tigran Mukuchyan told the journalists on Wednesday.

“Eight representatives of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) appealed to re-count votes only in eight precincts, 0.4% of all polling stations. At the same time, one from Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), one from Heritage and five from Orinats Yerkir applications have been received,” Mukuchyan said.

Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission has issued the preliminary results of parliamentary elections. Five parties and one political bloc will be represented in the 131-seat National Assembly (Parliament) of Armenia: Republican Party of Armenia – 44.05% (663,066 votes), Prosperous Armenia Party – 30.20% (454,684 votes), Armenian National Congress – 7.10% (106,910 votes), Heritage Party – 5.79% (87,095 votes), ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party – 5.73% (86, 296 votes), Orinats Yerkir Party – 5.49% (82,690 votes).

To enter the parliament, parties should poll over 5 percent, while blocs 7 percent. Armenia currently has five parties and one bloc in the new parliament.
