Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on the social network X that he had spoken with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, who, according to him, is well aware of all the details of the current diplomatic prospects.
"It is important that each of our steps in the negotiations, in applying pressure on Russia, and in advancing peace be prepared as thoroughly as possible and coordinated with key partners," Zelensky noted.
According to the President of Ukraine, Kyiv’s position is that Europe should be part of the diplomatic process and that its voice should carry weight.
"Of course, I informed him about the situation on the battlefield and the key threats. Russia is doing everything possible to continue missile and drone strikes on the territory of Ukraine, on our cities and villages.
We discussed the possibilities of our response actions, protecting people’s lives, as well as the need for additional strengthening of the air defense system. We are counting heavily on France’s support and on its adoption of decisive decisions," he concluded.
