On the night of July 6, Ukraine’s air defense was unable to shoot down a single one of the 29 missiles that were flying on a ballistic trajectory: the shortage of missiles for Patriot systems capable of intercepting ballistic targets is taking its toll. This was stated by Air Force spokesperson Yurii Ihnat, Ukrainska Pravda reports.

“The figure is low, to put it mildly. To shoot down ballistic missiles, you need to have the means to do it. There are enough systems; what is needed is a constant supply of missiles. The Russians are taking advantage of the fact that Ukraine, and indeed the whole world, is experiencing a serious shortage of PAC-2 and PAC-3 interceptor missiles, and therefore they are focusing more on strikes with ballistic missiles.”
