Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan has filed a lawsuit against Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, demanding that he refute the statements made about vote buying.

Also, Galstanyan demands symbolic compensation of 49.7 drams.

The lawsuit was filed with the court on Monday.

Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, former Primate of the Tavush Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, demands that Nikol Pashinyan publicly refute, within five working days after the court's decision enters into legal force, the statements which, as per the lawsuit, are defamatory of Galstanyan’s honor, dignity, and good reputation and that do not correspond to reality.

Also, the refutation must be publicized on the official website of the Armenian government (www.gov.am), the official website of the Armenian prime minister (www.primeminister.am), and through the press with a print run of at least 5,000.

There is no information about the lawsuit being accepted for proceeding.

Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan was under arrest since June 2025. But on June 4 of this year, the appellate court of Armenia commuted Galstanyan’s precautionary measure of detention to house arrest.

According to the Investigative Committee of Armenia, participants in the Archbishop Galstanyan-led “Holy Struggle” movement had planned to carry out terrorist and power-seizing actions in Armenia.
