U.S. President Donald Trump said in Ankara on the sidelines of the NATO summit that, in his opinion, Ukraine and Russia want to reach an agreement that will put an end to the conflict, NBC News reports.

“I think they both want to make a deal,” he told reporters.

Trump also repeated that in recent days he had positive phone conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“They both want to resolve this issue now more than ever. I’ve been making deals all my life, and I think they will succeed. I think we will be able to settle the situation, hopefully in the near future,” Trump said.
