Slovenia is expected to become the only one of NATO’s 32 member states that will fail to meet the alliance’s key defense spending commitment this year. This is stated in a NATO report published on Tuesday, Bloomberg reports.

According to the alliance’s new data, the number of countries that have not reached the target level of defense spending of 2% of gross domestic product will fall from three to one.

Previously, the countries that had also failed to meet this target included the Czech Republic and Albania. However, according to NATO estimates, both countries will reach the required level this year. At the same time, Albania is set to host the next North Atlantic Alliance summit.
